Barocal recently took part in the Climate First Japan Roadshow, where we introduced our solid-state cooling technology to a wide range of investors, corporates, and strategic partners across Japan.
Japan is a global leader in advanced manufacturing and innovation, with strong national policies supporting decarbonisation. The roadshow offered a great opportunity to understand the local landscape and explore where our technology might contribute.
Highlights from the roadshow
Over three days, we joined a series of presentations, pitch sessions, and one-to-one meetings with a broad range of organisations. These included leading industrial companies, VCs, and corporate innovation teams with a shared interest in high-efficiency cooling technologies.
There was particular interest in how Barocal’s systems could support long-term improvements in energy efficiency, especially in sectors such as data centres, commercial buildings, and manufacturing, where cooling demand continues to grow. Discussions also covered practical aspects such as integration, operating cost, and technology readiness.
We also took part in a showcase event hosted by Plug and Play Japan, which brought together dozens of startups and established firms from across the climate and energy space.
What’s next
The roadshow was a great introduction to the Japanese market and has helped shape our thinking around this market. We’re now following up on several conversations and exploring next steps for potential collaboration.
Many thanks to Climate First and the organisers in Tokyo for their support, and to everyone we met for their time and insight.
